If you hire me as your tutor, you bring a sharpened pencil (or two). Math is learned by doing. So when I tutor you, you will be doing (almost) all of the writing. I will explain the concepts and show you how to do the work, but you will do it. This way, you will remember how to do it better. I can teach or tutor nearly any math, at any level, including: Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and all levels of Calculus (and even a few higher math levels). I am a graduate math ...

I was a computer programmer for many years and am now a math student. I can probably solve most of your problems with Excel. Honestly, it may take me a little bit to figure some things out (because I wasn't an Excel programmer), but I will answer all of your questions or figure out how.

Jeff is an excellent math tutor. He is very patient. He did a fantastic job of explaining algebra to my son. He made the lessons interesting and easy to grasp. These concepts were a level higher than what my son was doing in school. He was well organized and came with enough resources to give him additional practice.

Jeff was extremely patient and very knowledgeable on the topic of calculus. He explained things in a way that was clear and logical so that the information was easily transferable in class and on tests. I would highly recommend Jeff and use him again if needed.

Jeff has made all the difference for our son and his honors precalculus class. A fantastic tutor. He is very good at his job.

I had Jeff for Matlab debugging assistance. He informed me from the beginning that he didn't receive formal training in Matlab, but he used it for his graduate study, so I expected a slow accomplishment in the debugging. However, he grasped the program idea quickly and helped me fixed the errors in my program. He also replies promptly to emails and always on-time for tutoring sessions. Very happy that I made the right choice and picked Jeff as my Matlab tutor!

Studying to be an electrical engineer is not an easy endeavor. Ever since I can remember, I was not good at math. I thought I could get away with basic math knowledge, however that was not the case when my major required I know Calculus 1. I came to the conclusion that the only way that I was going to excel in math was by getting a tutor that can break math down for me one step at a time, both visually and through theory and understanding. Jeff has met these obligations, and acts and teaches in a very professional manner. He is very punctual and has a flexible schedule to work around. However, most importantly, he is a teacher that knows how to share and teach to you the subject. I have had tutors in the past that claimed to have 4.0 GPA’s and such, but when it came down to teaching me, the end result would be a complete failure; it is as if at times, I would be better off studying on my own. Jeff, on the other hand, takes a hand on approach that actually makes you want to learn math, and look forward to going to class. I would recommend anyone in need of math help to give Jeff a try, and watch as you excel in math.

I met with Jeff to go over Calculus and he was very knowledgeable and his explanations were extremely helpful. He not only showed me some things I needed to work on, but he also reinforced things that I did understand, but for which I had tentative confidence. I would definitely recommend Jeff as a tutor. He is patient, comprehensible and very capable of honing in on the areas in which I had trouble and needed specific attention. If you need help with math/calculus, based on my experience, Jeff is an excellent resource and a great choice for a tutor.

Jeff was able to help my son, a college freshman, who is struggling with calculus. Jeff was able to identify some of the problems my son was having and helped him get a better understanding of the material in just a few lessons. Jeff was very accommodating and arranged his schedule around my sons availability as he was home for spring break and needed immediate attention. Jeff made my son feel very comfortable and he felt that Jeff was patient and clear with his instruction. I definitely recommend Jeff as a tutor. Jeff is very knowledgeable in his subject matter and is very thorough in planning the lessons. My son feels much more confident after working with Jeff and said that he would seek help from him in the future and would recommend him as well.

Jeff helped me raise my calculus grades in college from Cs to As. He explains everything very clearly. He made sure that I not only understood how to do each problem individually but that I understood the concepts and would be able to figure out future problems on my own. I highly recommend this tutor to anyone who is serious about getting good grades!

Jeff S. Did a great job preparing me for a return to undergraduate Mathematics course work. I was very anxious about returning to college in my mid 40's. Based on my experience with Jeff S., I would certainly recommend him to other students, as he has proven to be a capable Mathematics instructor. Students preparing for undergraduate Mathematics course work would benefit from working with him. Jeff is very capable problem solver and an excellent instructor.

Jeff is very professional, prompt, and makes the lessons very understandable for my son. He is patient, thorough and easy for my son to communicate with. Most of all, he seems very dedicated to what he does and seems very committed to making sure my son understands the material and is learning it properly. Overall, I am very pleased and would highly recommend Jeff.

Jeff put so much effort into understanding the language of Symbolic Logic to help our daughter through the course. He worked with her patiently, and was determined to master the subject matter to be effective in tutoring! She could not have done as well as she did without his excellent tutoring skills.

Jeff is fantastic. He is kind, humorous, extremely prompt with email responses, patient, a good teacher, and incredibly knowledgeable: He was able to teach me what the professor and textbook failed to do! I will use him for the rest of this semester--I literally thought I was going to fail Symbolic Logic and thusly screw up my GPA and be forced to drop my major (for which this is a mandatory class,) which would mean that I would not graduate on time, or be eligible for Phi Beta Kappa, etc. At this rate, I am going to ace the hardest class offered by the university! And for that, I have Jeff to thank. I highly recommend him for anyone who needs help with math and/or symbolic logic!
